How to Use Honey Wax with Strips at Home
Warm Namyaa Gold Honey Wax until it is spreadable, test the temperature, apply a thin layer in the direction of hair growth, press on a waxing strip and pull quickly against growth while staying close to the skin. Good preparation and a controlled pull matter more than using a thick layer.
What you need
- Namyaa Gold Honey Wax
- Wax heater or the heating method allowed on the pack
- Clean spatula
- Waxing strips
- Clean towel
- Mirror for hard-to-see areas
- A familiar, fragrance-free soothing product if your skin normally tolerates one
Do not improvise with a heating method that the pack does not permit. Uneven heating can create hot spots.
Step 1: Check hair and skin
The American Academy of Dermatology recommends hair around ¼ to ¾ inch long for waxing. Very short hair may not grip; very long hair may make the process more uncomfortable and harder to control.
Skip waxing over sunburn, cuts, a rash, active irritation or inflamed bumps. Review prescription acne and retinoid use before facial waxing.
Step 2: Clean and dry thoroughly
Remove oil, lotion, sweat and deodorant. Pat the area completely dry. Wax adheres to hair more predictably when the surface is clean and dry.
Step 3: Warm and test
Warm the product only until it spreads in a thin, even layer. Stir carefully to distribute heat. Test a small amount on the inside of your wrist before applying it elsewhere. If it feels hot or painful, let it cool.
Step 4: Apply a thin layer
Use the spatula to spread wax with the direction of hair growth. Work in small sections, especially while learning. Avoid going repeatedly over the same skin.
Step 5: Press the strip
Lay the strip on the wax, leaving a clean edge to grip. Smooth it firmly in the direction of growth so it contacts the layer.
Step 6: Pull correctly
Hold the skin taut. Remove the strip quickly against hair growth while keeping your hand close and parallel to the skin. Pulling upward can increase tugging and bruising.
Use clean pressure from your hand to calm the area briefly. Do not immediately re-wax missed hairs if the skin looks irritated; use tweezers later or wait.
Aftercare
- Avoid aggressive scrubbing, fragrance and very hot water on freshly waxed skin.
- Wear loose clothing if the area is friction-prone.
- Keep hands and tools clean.
- Seek medical advice if redness or swelling lasts more than two days, as AAD recommends.
For cleanup, use the method in how to remove honey wax residue.

Frequently asked questions
Which direction should I apply and pull?
Apply with hair growth; pull the strip against growth, close to the skin.
Can I wax the same spot twice?
Avoid repeated passes on sensitised skin. If it looks red or sore, stop.
Why is the wax not gripping?
The skin may be oily or damp, hair may be too short, the wax may be too cool or the layer may be too thick.
Can I wax immediately after a shower?
Wait until the skin is cool and fully dry rather than warm, damp or softened by hot water.
Is this wax stripless?
No. Namyaa's current Gold Honey Wax directions use waxing strips.
